The Shoushan Red Stone tortoise sits on a bed of ingots symbolizing that if we take our time to earn money we should live to a ripe old age to enjoy it and our retirement.

 

The Shell of the tortoise is said to have the markings of heaven and earth upon it. In Chinese mythology the Tortoise was said to have risen from the depths with the markings of the eight trigrams on its back, these are used in the I Ching and the Bagwa. The Tortoise symbolizes wealth, longevity, strength and endurance.
